Lower School

Aletheia Christian offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to create Christian scholars who are prepared to impact the world in a Godly way. Our core subject areas include language arts (reading, spelling, grammar, and writing), math, science, social studies, and Bible. Special subject classes are provided to enrich the core subjects and include music, physical education, art, computer, Spanish, and library. Our students begin learning cursive handwriting in the second grade, which gives them an opportunity to adequately master manuscript printing before moving on to the more advanced cursive.

Parts of Speech Parent / Student Resources

One of the most difficult transitions for new students is often with grammar. Aletheia Christian uses Winston Grammar, which is a challenging curriculum.  Our desire is to help smooth the way for our new students in regard to the English curriculum.

The following resources are available to help with this transition:

  • The #1 resource we recommend for all students is this website: www.afterschoolhelp.com
  • Grammar Monster is another helpful website. Students read through simply worded lessons, watch teaching videos, and do practice exercises. It is recommended to begin with the Parts of Speech list on the homepage and having your student work their way through those lessons.
  • Grammar Practice Exercise with answer key, put together by Aletheia teachers.
