Spiritual Life
Chapel
Each week, students gather together to worship in song and hear an encouraging message from God’s word. Chapel allows students to step outside of the classroom and hear God’s word through different formats such as panel discussions, sermons, and Q&A sessions. During this time, students have the opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers. Overall, chapel is a time to both receive and respond; students receive a message and respond in worship. We have separate chapel times for the Lower School (4th - 6th) and Upper School (7th - 12th) each week. There are several occasions throughout the school year where we enjoy coming together for a whole school chapel program.
IGNITE and Spiritual Conference
At the beginning of the school year, the Upper School students ( 7th - 12th ) participate in a one-day Spiritual Conference, called “IGNITE!”. The purpose of this event is to deepen our student’s relationships with Christ and with one another and to start out the new school year with a clear focus on the Father. The event includes music, fun group-building activities, testimonies, and thought-provoking messages.
In the spring, the Upper School students take two school days to go off campus and have a "spiritual retreat" during school hours, called "Spiritual Conference." This is an entirely student-led event, with our Student Government Association planning the speakers, meals, break-out sessions, and music.
Every year, great testimonies come out of this event. Whether it is students encouraging other students, students becoming open to God's leading, confession and repentance, or just being strengthened in their faith, the spiritual conference has made an impact, and traditionally been a school favorite event.
Each of these Spiritual Conferences has proved to be a powerful and positive experience in the lives of our students and teachers.
Legacy Groups
Legacy groups are small-sized discipleship groups that connect middle and high school students with teachers and staff in an effort to build relationships, mentor students, and encourage spiritual growth within our student-body.
Legacy groups exist to:
-
Promote spiritual growth and discipleship for all students.
-
Provide an opportunity for our older students to leave a legacy at Aletheia by serving, ministering, mentoring our younger students and the entire group.
-
Provide an environment for all students to discuss important topics.
-
Foster deeper relationships between students and adult leaders.
