Organizations and Activities

Student Government

The Student Government Association is elected every year and includes representatives from each middle/high school class.  SGA plans school events, such as the annual Spiritual Conference, pep rallies, and spirit week.

The SGA holds sales such as Candy Cane sales during the Christmas season and the "Three C's" (candy, card, and carnation) sale during Valentine's in order to raise funds for the school events.  They also sponsor the annual high school canoe trip, which is a day loved by all!

SGA also plans and leads "See You at the Pole", which is a prayer event that occurs on the fourth Wednesday of September each year. This is a global day of student prayer that began in 1990 as a grass roots movement with ten students praying at their school. Now millions of students across the world meet at their school’s flagpole before the school day starts to lift up their friends, families, teachers, school, nation, and world to God.

Activity Period

Every Wednesday, students participate in activity periods, which are enrichment classes that allow for opportunities to learn and experience something new. Recent activity options have been STEM, Chess, Yearbook, Worship Team, Sign Language, Intro to China, Art and more. Students can choose a new activity every quarter and the offerings change as well.

Student Leadership University

Our students have been blessed to have participated in Student Leadership University’s programs.

The vision of SLU is one that is optimistically looking forward towards the goal of empowering, enabling, and equipping students around the globe to rise to the call of leadership, along with training students to be able to adequately respond to the challenges presented by today’s culture.  Like Aletheia, they wish to train up tomorrow’s leaders to be passionate about Jesus Christ and to live in truth.

SLU101 is held in Orlando, Florida, and is patterned after Fortune 500 leadership seminars.  It challenges students to improve their leadership skills, expand their faith, and learn about Christian worldview.  SLU 201 is held in Washington, D.C.  It gives students an in-depth look at the foundation of our country, its history and beliefs.  Besides meaningful visits to monuments and museums, students participate in events such as breakfast with the National Press Club, Congressional receptions, and seminars led by leaders of today.

We have sent students to SLU301, which is held in Europe and France.  Students who attend are exposed to history in a new way as they experience such places as the beaches of Normandy, Stonehenge, museums, and Christ Church.

Chick-fil-A Leader Academy

The Chick-fil-A Leader Academy is a national high school leadership program sponsored by Chick-fil-A Operators, focused on making an impact through action. It is a yearlong curriculum engaging students with a monthly “Leader Lab” focusing on important leadership skills. The cornerstone of Chick-fil-A Leader Academy is the year-end Impact Project, which is student planned and student led. Students in the program rally students in their school to organize and execute projects that make a difference in communities across America.
